Presentations Description
Alex Rigby present on How Tints Manipulate Light: Physics & Perception in Eyewear
Duration: 45 minutes
Synopsis: Key Concepts to Cover
Duration: 45 minutes
Synopsis: Key Concepts to Cover
- Light absorption and transmission:
How dyes and pigments in lenses selectively absorb wavelengths; Lambert–Beer law basics. - Spectral transmission curves: Show how different tints block UV, blue light, IR, etc.
Human visual perception:
- Why brown increases contrast
- Why grey maintains colour neutrality
- Why yellow enhances brightness in low light
Potential Experiments / Demonstrations
- Compare spectral transmission graphs of grey vs. brown vs. yellow.
- Display how scene contrast changes through each tint.
Learning Objectives
- Understanding the comprehensive solution to sun protection. Applications of choosing the best form of protection based on a patients lifestyle.
