Jillian is an optometrist who has always been fascinated by complex eyes and the difference the right contact lens can make. She studied a Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Optometry with Distinction at QUT in Queensland, before completing her residency at the Australian College of Optometry, where her love for specialty lenses and ocular disease really began.

She has completed two postgraduate Specialist Certificates at the University of Melbourne, and she is a clinical supervisor and lecturer at Melbourne University. Jillian also speaks regularly at conferences across Australia and presents for the ACO’s Advanced Contact Lens course. Giving back has always been important to her, and she has worked in remote Northern Territory communities and volunteered her skills in Vanuatu and India - experiences she treasures and hopes to do more of in the future.

Originally from a sugar cane farm in Far North Queensland, Jillian still heads north whenever Melbourne winters get too much. She joined Richard Lindsay & Associates in 2016 and became the sole owner in 2023. She cares deeply about keeping the practice warm and welcoming while also pushing forward with innovation in patient care.

Jillian is happiest when she’s sharing what she knows and helping others succeed. She loves running events and workshops at the practice, creating spaces where optometrists and students can build their skills, swap stories, and support one another - often with a tricky case or two thrown into the mix.
