Interpreting Corneal Topography - An Optometrists' Guide
Presentation
Presentations Description
Jillian Campbell presents on Interpreting Corneal Topography - An Optometrists' Guide
Duration:
30 minutes

Synopsis: This lecture provides a practical, clinically focused overview of corneal topography for everyday optometry practice. We will revisit the principles behind Placido disc, Scheimpflug and OCT-based imaging, then explore how to interpret key maps including axial, tangential, elevation and pachymetry plots.   Attendees will learn how to recognise normal versus abnormal corneal patterns, and identify early keratoconus.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, delegates should be able to:
  1. Understand the principles behind different corneal topography systems
  2. Accurately interpret axial, tangential and elevation maps.
  3. Recognise normal corneal patterns versus early and advanced keratoconus.
