Dr Rohan Hughes is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for Vision and Eye Research at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the Clinical Lead of the QUT Myopia Control Clinic, a guest lecturer at QUT, and continues to consult in private optometric practice at Dwyer and Ross Optometrists. 

He is an active researcher, with a focus on myopia development and control treatments, and also frequently presents on clinical myopia management. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and serves as an Associate Editor for Clinical and Experimental Optometry.
